Meet Jimmy McGill, aka Saul Goodman, the slick lawyer from Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould's TV world of Breaking Bad. Saul's a major player in Breaking Bad (2008–2013) and the star of the spin-off Better Call Saul (2015–2022).
He's an Albuquerque lawyer who's part con artist, part legal eagle, totally into the criminal scene. In Breaking Bad, he's the brain behind meth chefs Walter White and Jesse Pinkman's empire. Better Call Saul shows us how Jimmy turned into Saul and then into Gene Takavic, his post-Breaking Bad alias.
Saul debuted in "Better Call Saul" (2009), Breaking Bad's Season 2. Originally just for laughs and guidance for Walt and Jesse, he became a show staple thanks to Odenkirk's killer performance. Post-Breaking Bad, Gilligan and Gould whipped up a Saul origin story.
Critics and fans love Odenkirk as Saul. He even snagged six Emmy nods for Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Saul Goodman: more than just a name, he's a one-liner with a law degree!
